It's ABC Wednesday

This week is brought to us by the letter "I". I have chosen "Infamy". December 7th, 1941 "a day that shall live in Infamy".

These pictures were taken last August at Pearl Harbor. This was my second visit to the USS Arizona Memorial. I was just as moved this time as I was the first. A very solemn occasion.

My father lost friends at Pearl Harbor, one of them on the USS Arizona. I think of him, and all the men that served in WWII when I look at these photos.

I was also so moved by seeing the Arizona Memorial. I was glad our son, John (13), was with us. I think it is especially important that our children understand what happened on that day of Infamy, and how that solidified our Country at the beginning of WW II.

An unusual word to choose. The phrase concerning Pearl Harbour is so well known that one rarely hears the word used in any other connection. Thanks for visiting Rinkly Rimes,

I'm really enjoying the different interpretations other people are putting on ABC Wednesday!

We know the story of Pearl Harbour on this side of The Pond, of course. It's ultimately what brought you guys into the war, is it not?

Perfect word choice for the letter I.
The Arizona Memorial is such a touching place. Great shot of our flag.

Perfect choice for today's letter! Thanks for sharing these photos. I'm sure I would be overcome with emotion if I'd been able to see this memorial in person.
Happy Wednesday!

That was my dad's 10 birthday, so we talked about it each year when it came around at our house. Sad.
